Finding Connection, Growth, and Confidence at the Alchemize Fightwear West Coast Camp

Finding Connection, Growth, and Confidence at the Alchemize Fightwear West Coast Camp

Earlier this month, That Sage Life had the incredible opportunity to take part in the Alchemize Fightwear West Coast Women’s Grappling Fest — a weekend-long jiu-jitsu retreat held in Los Angeles, California at the City Market Social House.

This event brought together women from all over the country, representing different academies, experience levels, and walks of life, all united by a shared love for jiu-jitsu and a drive to grow both on and off the mats.

Day 1: Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone

The first day kicked off with a wave of excitement and connection. It was amazing meeting so many strong, inspiring women — each with their own story, goals, and reasons for showing up. For me personally, it was a day of stepping out of my shell a bit, introducing That Sage Life to new faces, and sharing the heart behind what we do.

On the mats, we had the opportunity to learn from some of the best female jiu-jitsu practitioners in the world — including Kendall Reusing, Margo Cicerelli, and Sarah McMann. Each session brought new techniques, insights, and challenges that reminded us why this sport is so powerful. The energy in the room was electric — supportive, motivating, and full of women cheering each other on.

Day 2: Learning, Applying, and Growing

Day two continued the momentum with a mix of open mat time, technique sessions, and off-mat learning. We rolled, drilled, and absorbed knowledge from Rose Miller and Gabrielle Czernick, who led engaging on-mat sessions focused on movement, flow, and technique application.

Off the mats, Sarah McMann offered valuable insight into the mental game of training — how mindset shapes not only our performance but our overall growth. Rose Miller also shared her knowledge on nutrition and how fueling our bodies properly plays such an important role in our strength, energy, and resilience.

It was an incredible experience connecting with so many women of all levels — including several from my own local area. These shared moments on the mats remind me why I love this sport and community so much.

Gratitude and Reflection

I’m so grateful to Alchemize Fightwear for creating this space where women can come together to train, connect, and lift one another up. Thank you to everyone who showed your love and support for Sage throughout the weekend — your encouragement means the world, and I hope you truly enjoy the products I create with care and purpose.

Events like this perfectly capture what the Be A Sage mindset is all about — continuing to learn, push boundaries, and build confidence through experience and connection.

Until next year, Alchemize Fightwear — what a beautiful weekend to remember. 🌿
